About Nobby's Beach Surf Club

Nobby’s Beach Surf Club, a Gold Coast community icon since 1954, has entered a new chapter by joining The Bears Group, the team behind Burleigh Sports Club, Burleigh Leagues Club and the Burleigh Bears Rugby League Club. This partnership strengthens the long-term sustainability of both the Surf Life Saving Club and its Supporters Club while honouring more than 70 years of local legacy.

For decades, Nobby’s SLSC has provided safety, connection and community through patrols, youth programs and surf sports, while the Supporters Club has brought locals together to dine and support vital lifesaving services. That legacy now moves forward with renewed focus.

Since 8 December 2025, The Bears Group has taken on the commercial operations of the Supporters Club, including the bar, bistro, and gaming. This partnership brings renewed strength, allowing each organisation to focus on what it does best. Nobby’s SLSC continues its proud surf lifesaving tradition, while The Bears Group elevates the hospitality experience with the same expertise and community-focused approach that has shaped its Burleigh venues for decades.

A major venue renovation is planned for 2027, delivering modern facilities and a revitalised community space. Throughout this time, Nobby’s Surf Life Saving Club will continue operating under its existing identity. The Supporters Club will also see refreshed menus featuring coastal-inspired dishes, seasonal Australian produce and modern updates to classic club favourites.
